Education

Rico Pieroni has always been very committed in the education sector. He has worked as a Music Educator with a diverse range of teaching experience. His lessons have in the past even been recommended to be recorded for training purposes.

He initally graduated from the Conservatoire of Music in Cordoba with a BA in Music Teaching specialised in Guitar Teaching (UK Naric Accredited). He has also studied Music Composition in the National University of Cordoba and trained with very prestigious music educators from Argentina and Uruguay.

Experience: Worked across all KSA2 Music technology (Sixth forms)Wider Opportunities (with courses including up to 60 children)Worked with vulnerable adults/children with learning difficulties.Rico worked using percussion and drums to encourage awareness of those around them, working as a team and harnessing their innate sense of rhythm and teamwork.

Rico also offered CDP sessions and workshops to other music educators. Some of his workshops include: Deputy Head Teachers Conference held for the London Borough of Waltham ForestArt and Music Teachers Conference held in Warwick University organised by the Schools Network (SSAT).Various other schools INSET days.

These practical music workshops range from cross curricula approaches to interactive drumming workshops. Delegates attending Rico Pieroni’s workshops include Deputy Head Teachers, Music Coordinators, Head of Music Department and Advanced Skills Music Teachers from various locations in the UK.

Rico is also the founder of Music Mode (www.musicmode.org), an organisation with a self contained not-for-profit project -and eligible for EEF grants- dedicated to provide interactive music workshops to children in deprived areas as well as SEN children both with learning and emotional needs. Music Mode currently provides services to institutions across London and is closely working with the Schools Network (formerly SSAT) and has received direct training from the NSPCC for child protection.

Other services provided by Music Mode include a wide variety of team building workshops through music, both for the public sector and corporate groups.

As a musician, he has composed soundtracks for various short films and animations in which some of them have been broadcasted on SKY TV. He also performs in London venues as a guitarist and one of his main musical projects has been aired on London FM radio stations and has received national magazine reviews and live radio interviews at The University of Reading.

Rico admires the principles of Value Creation Education (Soka Education). Soka Education has as its key principles the quality of the relationship between teacher and student, the teacher's sense of care for the student and their efforts to appreciate and develop the unique character and potential of each learner.
